Cora amsterdam

cora-amsterdam "duo"

Cora is a German pop band. It was the early 1980s at the height of the Neue Deutsche Welle in Berlin by the two musicians Svetlana Baroness of the Bottle Berg (November 12, 1951) and Cora Baroness of the Mountain Bottle (founded August 9, 1951).

The two musicians had met in the 1970s, at the recording of the singles he's with me and Marleen Marianne Rosenberg and love, in which both participated as background singers. With the help of Frank Farian, the album was created in 1983 in love, but missed the commercial expectations. 1984 Cora wrote the song for Juliane Werding Amsterdam (Love has totally failed), Werding rejected it, however. Farian, however, recognized the potential of the composition and produced it along with Cora. The English version of the song reached the French charts, spent four months in the Top 20 and sold about 200,000 copies.

1990 Cora were awarded for the single "In The Name Of Love From the Saarland Radio as Best Newcomer of the Year with the Golden Europe. Then it was quiet around the band. Released in 1992, the last time being single.

The two become attracted to each other was in partnership live musicians (the name of Cora with Svetlana) in the vicinity of Potsdam, Golm, and opened a restaurant and hotel castle manor Golm.

Amsterdam live show

One of the many legends about Amsterdam that some people have trouble believing is that there are theaters where patrons can pay for entrance and then witness actual live couples on stage having sex, as well as quite a few different-but-similar tricks involving bananas, pens, ribbons, vibrators, and whatnot. Just like the legend of Amsterdam’s coffee shops and the Red Light District itself, this one is absolutely true, at least as of now. (Starting in late 2007 the city began cracking down on many sex-related businesses and closing down RLD windows as part of a 10-year plan to clean the area up, so there’s no telling how long the current hands-off situation will carry on.)

Live sex shows are not the same as sex clubs

The sex shows in Amsterdam are based around a bit of audience participation, but for the most part these are spectator sports. If you are looking for a sex club where you can enter a bar and then choose a girl to spend a private hour with, Amsterdam has got you covered. The sex clubs are similar to the brothels, but very different in a few key ways.

>>more information on Amsterdam sex clubs

There are three of these live-sex theaters/bars in the Red Light District, and each is quite different so deciding which of the three to visit should be pretty easy for most people. And while these live-sex clubs are “shows” they aren’t really the same as strip clubs elsewhere. These places feature things that most people never thought they’d ever see in public (or at least in a dimly-lit big city nightclub), but they aren’t too likely to get visitors worked up to the point where the only practical release is visiting one of the nearby window girls. Nope, most people describe the experience as interesting or hilarious rather than “sexy”, and the group you visit with will probably make all the difference as to whether it’s a screaming laugh or an over-hyped disappointment. If you are just really horny you might just skip this step because prostitute prices in Amsterdam are probably lower than you expect.

Prices and negotiating discounts
The first two places below (which are owned by the same people) list official prices for entrance, but a variety of factors will influence whether or not you can arrange a discount at any of the three of them. At each place you’ll deal with a multi-lingual doorman who is an expert at figuring out just how much money the club can get out of your group. You’ll never have to pay more than the listed price, but if you come when it’s crowded, are in a small group, and seem anxious, there’s almost no way of getting in for less.

The trick, if you want to save a bit of money on the way in, is to go at an off-peak hour (earlier), but then you run the risk of the place being dead and not as fun as it would be if you came at a peak hour. If they aren’t too crowded inside and you seem ready to go to the next club if you don’t get a discount then you’ll have a good shot of either saving some money or getting additional drink tickets (other than at the Bananenbar with its unlimited drinks policy).

Also, if you are in a larger group of, say, 6 or more people, you might be able to get a discount even when they are crowded. It’ll probably be only €5 per person, but it’s worth asking for sure. These places will often let the bride or groom-to-be in for free for stag/hen/bachelor/bachelorette parties as long as that person is dressed up a bit.

Special combination ticket
At the moment the Bananenbar and the Casa Rosso are offering a special deal for €55 per person that includes admission to Casa Rosso plus one drink, as well as admission to the Banana Bar for one hour and unlimited drinks. You can buy this combo deal at either place.

The three live sex show clubs in Amsterdam

Bananenbar (Dutch for Banana Bar, of course)

BananenbarThis one is probably the most famous of the three, and it’s not really even a live-sex show per se, since there are no male performers. This is the best place for Amsterdam stag/bachelor parties and groups of drunken men, and probably the worst choice of the 3 for couples, although females and even groups of females are welcome. The Bananenbar is owned by the same people who own Casa Rosso, which is discussed below.

For a fixed admission charge of €45 per person you gain entrance to the Bananenbar for 1 hour, and all drinks are free and included in this steep price. You’ll be handed a glass for either beer or spirits, which will then be filled by the performers/servers in either the upstairs or the downstairs bar area. There are usually 4 girls working on each level, and they tend to be a mix of different looks so most people will find at least a couple of them to their taste.

If you go late in the evening or other times when it’s busy you can sit in the back and not get more involved yourself, but if you want to have a hands-on experience you’ll need to pay more. Each of the girls has sexy parlor tricks they can perform, and one of them will cost your group €20 while you can get them all doing their routine for €50. This is only one of the reasons it’s best to go with a bigger group.

The performances you’ll see close up include baby oil rubbing sessions, a remarkable penmanship demonstration on a postcard where the girl doesn’t need to hold the Sharpie in her hands, vibrators being fired long distances at high speeds – again, with no hands, and of course the famous routines involving the bananas themselves.

After your hour is up your name will be called and you’ll be hustled out of the club before you know what’s hit you, or you can pay more to stay. Most people reckon that one hour is a perfect amount of time because it’s designed that you can see everything once, and the novelty wears off quickly the second time anyway.

Casa Rosso

Casa RossoThis place refers to itself as a “five star erotic theatre,” but not everyone seems to agree that it’s five star or particularly erotic. This is a theater that holds over 100 people, rather than a bar like Bananenbar, but they do serve drinks in your seats here as well. This place is also popular for stag/bachelor parties, but it’s also fairly popular for hen/bachelorette parties as well. The price is €30 per person with no drinks or €45 per person with 4 drink tickets, which can be redeemed for any drink they have, not just cheap lager.

At the top of each hour a series of performances begins, although it’s basically the same each hour so there isn’t much reason to plan on staying all night. They promise couples shows, both male and female striptease shows, a soft S&M show, and a banana show during each hour, but during certain times of the evening you may not get all of them.

There is usually only a couple minutes between acts, and some people are impressed by how choreographed the whole thing is (including the couples sex show parts), but others think it all becomes a bit mechanical when every movement is scripted to that degree.

There will always be calls for audience participation, and bold and drunken audience members can and will end up on the stage, but occasionally when there are no takers in the crowd the show just drops that portion. People seated in the first row run the risk of getting squirted with something, although not as bad as you might think.

The appearance of the entertainers seems to be a bit of a gamble depending on when you go. Some people report that some of the entertainers are older and not at all sexy, but most people agree that this place has fitter performers than Moulin Rouge most of the time.

Moulin Rouge

Moulin RougeThis place is much more similar to Casa Rossa discussed above than to the Bananenbar discussed just above that. It’s a theater, although a bit smaller than Casa Rosso. You usually get 4 to 5 different acts over the course of an hour, and the breaks between acts tend to be longer here than at Casa Rosso.

The fellow out front will tell you that a couples-sex act is always on tap, but depending on when you go that may not be the case. Here the emphasis is more on the stunts and also audience participation as members of the audience will be encouraged to go on the stage to help some of the acts. There are performers that use a candle, ribbons, a vibrator, a writing show similar to the one at the Bananenbar, female striptease, male striptease, and a couples sex show, but again, not necessarily all of them every hour of the day.

Many visitors describe some of the performers here as bored, and more than a few have been disappointed in the shows. Sometimes the attractiveness, youth, and fitness level of the performers has been called into question by some past visitors, so don’t be too surprised if these aren’t models or porn stars. But most people do find the place very entertaining and again, if you are in the right mood and with the right people this can be really fun no matter what’s going on up on the stage.

This place is probably the most popular for female visitors and couples, but of course the stag/bachelor parties often come to this one too.

New Amsterdam Straight Gin Review

New Amsterdam Straight Gin

The Bottom LineThe Bottom Line
New Amsterdam Straight Gin is an American gin produced in Modesto, California. This is interesting because gin has no basis juniper that most do, but less than $ 20 per bottle it is a pleasant change of pace if you're on a budget. New Amsterdam works well in fruit drinks and a good bottle to have a stock every once in a while. I do not recommend this to experts gin, but for those who love vodka, especially infused vodkas, it is a good spirit.

New Amsterdam Straight Gin
Pros
* Citrusy gin, great for fruit cocktails.
* Affordable and one of the better gins under $20.

Cons
* Juniper is lacking a bit more than other gins.

Description
* Pure neutral grain gin.
* Produced by N.A. Spirits Co., Modesto, California
* 40% alc/volume (80 proof)
* Retails for around $14/750ml bottle

Guide Review - New Amsterdam Straight Gin Review

As gins go, New Amersterdam Straight Gin is not typical. The lack of juniper is disappointing if that is what you look for in gin. It reminds me of Tanqueray Rangpur - heavy on the citrus and light on the herbs - and if you didn't know what you are drinking you'd almost think it a citrus vodka. The herbs and juniper are there, but are hard to recognize.

Mixing with New Amsterdam is not limited to the Martini, in fact I don't really recommend it in cocktails that are so transparent although the Martini with orange bitters and a twist is decent. Instead, I found this gin finds a place in fruit-based cocktails like the Clover Club, English Rose, and Floradora. I also found it a nice base for some of the creamy, dessert gin cocktails like the Emerald Isle or Caruso.

Tasting Notes:
New Amsterdam opens with a sweet, citrus and floral aroma. The palate is smooth and tangy, with more citrus notes than juniper. The finish is thick, filled with citrus and considerably dry.

Amsterdam plane crash investigators search wreckage for clues to disaster

Investigator is to investigate the debris of a Boeing 737 that fell into a field near Amsterdam Schiphol airport, in an attempt to find clues to what caused the accident, in which nine people were killed and 86 wounded.

Dozens of security officers and police worked overnight at the disaster site in the hope of finding evidence that could help explain why the pilot lost control of the Turkish Airlines plane seconds before it slid to the ground.

Airport spokesman confirmed today that the three Britons were on board flight. They believed Susan Lord and his children Sofia and Lisa Labeij, who traveled to the Netherlands with Jakavus Labeij, the girls' father Turkey. All the estimated escape without serious injury.

Of the 125 passengers who survived the crash, six are critically wounded, officials said. Four of seven Americans on board were Boeing employees, Haarlemmermeer mayor Theo Weterings told a press conference at the airport.

The flight's data recorders and voice tapes have been sent to Paris for examination and investigators said they expected the results within days. A separate team is working on location in the field near runway 18R, where the plane hit the ground and smashed into three pieces.

Fred Sanders, a spokesman for the Dutch Safety Authority, which is leading the inquiry, said the damage to the aircraft supported witness statements that it had hit the ground tail-down.

"This may indicate that the plane had lost its forward momentum, that there was no motor function," he said, cautioning that it could be a long time before a full explanation was available. "We will have an official finding probably in about a year, but we should be able to give an interim finding within weeks," said Sanders.

This morning the Turkish news website Hurriyet.com raised questions about the technical record of the aircraft, quoting sources who said it had been sent for repairs twice last week, undergoing maintenance on 18 February for a failure detected in its flaps, and again on Monday, when its "master caution" lights burned out. Those reports could not be confirmed.

Other theories behind the crash, including birds being sucked into the engine and the plane running out of fuel, appeared to be dismissed by investigators. "The cause of the crash is not yet known, and we have no hypothesis at this stage," said Rob Stenacker, a spokesman for Schiphol police.

The pilot of Flight 1951, Hasan Tahsin Arisan, who was one of three crew members to die in the crash, was an experienced former officer in the Turkish air force. There was nothing in the weather to indicate problems – aside from a slight mistiness, visibility was clear at 5,000 yards. The Boeing 737-800 model has an unblemished safety record.

Today's Turkish newspapers are critical of Turkish Airlines and the government's handling of the crisis. Initial statements claimed all passengers and crew had survived the crash. It was only hours after that the full extent of the casualties became clear. One newspaper labels the mix-up a scandal, while another writes that the aftermath "turned from celebration to torture".

Brothel become art studios

The red light continues to shine in a small room at one of Amsterdam's inner city streets, but left the bed, and some artists work in the creative installations in which prostitutes to talk with customers.

As part of efforts to revitalize the center and extended the red light district, the city of Amsterdam in collaboration with Association of Housing has acquired a number of former public house, and they rented rooms artists' studios.

Cleaning
Some clients are still catching up with the changes.

"Is Patricia here?" The old man asked in Spanish, after knocking at the window of a newly renovated studio.

"They do not know about the prostitutes have disappeared," says Niels Vis Dutch artist after the break.

Combating organized crime and clean up the city center of Amsterdam plan authorities, the number of brothels and selling marijuana cafes, which are an important incentive for tourists to the city, and reduced to limit prostitution to certain areas.

Said last week, the government plans further measures to combat forced prostitution and human trafficking, such as a registration requirement for sex workers and stricter rules for the approval of the brothels, escort agencies and massage parlors.
Better than fashion
However, despite the union to be less enthusiastic about a prostitute, a project that appears in the designer clothes and bags in the old windows, a spokesman for the Union said that prostitutes and artists used side by side.

"Prostitutes and artists can live together, as it was in Paris in the 19th century," said Metje Blaak, a spokesman for the Union of Rhode Draad, although they added that they do not want to see artists taking the whole neighborhood.

Prostitutes and their experience is often inspired artists, including the 19 century French artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Paris prostitutes used as models for his posters and paintings.

In mid-1970 the Serbian artist Marina Abramovic reels with a prostitute in Amsterdam in a few hours and have shared their expertise and experiences of prostitutes for an exhibition of photographs.

Red Artists-in-residence (Air Red) project offers Dutch and foreign artists with a space in projects to study the role of art in the urban areas to work with the conversion.

These projects include turning a former prostitute in a room in your public library, and shows photographs of modern architecture in another window, as well as the creation of posters and buttons with provocative statements like "I will rise."

Red Air is planning a final show in the second half of this year and is part of the concept of the city Redlight - A program to diversify the area, which was also in fashion and jewelry design project depends.
